the sausages from the freezer were placed in

when it came to 5:46pm…

i took them out\finding them still firmly frozen

i pulled out the new pan

…((it’s smaller than the old one))…

they didn’t all fit nicely into two\\spooning rows of meat

the second row was

\\CROO//KED\\

//JARRING//

…i turned the gas flame on…

…and waited…

the clack clock of wooden feet filled the house\\pinocchio stared over my

shoulder…creaking

his hand pointed at the \\break\\ in the second row

and with (whistle) and (wheeze) he spoke

…that’s what my ribs looked like when they got broke…
